Porta Plotty

plot

Since I’m using every other possible way to procrastinate editing/writing, I might as well blog. Figuring out the plot is becoming more and more of a challenge as I near the end of my manuscript. Since I’m away from Charm City this week, I had to bring my post-its with me. Thank god for those tiny pieces of yellow paper. With a Sharpie in hand, I went to work editing the outline last night. So much has changed over the past three months! This weekend, Steve and I have a date to nail down the plot so that I can wrap up these revisions!

Luckily, the closer I am to the end of the book, the easier it is to work with the material. I can’t believe I started this project eight months ago. I’m happy to report that I’m working on revisions for the last third. On Monday, I’ll face my writing group. I just re-joined and I’m so excited to jump back in! Many of the members I met at my first meeting (three years ago) should be there. They taught me so much!

In other un-newsworthy news, I just read A Touch Of Dead by Charlaine Harris. I thought I had read everything Sookie Stackhouse related, but I was wrong. It was a welcome companion playing on my iPhone during my drive to Woodstock. I’ve never been a big fan of short stories, but since each one was connected to the characters and plots from other SS books, I was happy as a clam. Once again, I can’t stop thinking in a southern accent.

Although this is random, I had to include this photo. Last weekend, I was in a wedding and this was hanging in the background during the ceremony. It was perfect…

You should have seen the two-story statue of Divine (famous Charm City drag queen) overlooking the ceremony!
