Last night I had some time on my hands. Usually, I would have buckled down and tried to tackle a decent word count for the day, but I needed to unwind. I didn’t want access to my phone or computer. I didn’t even want to be able to pick up a book. I just wanted to sit in the dark with some strangers and get lost in a film. And that is just what I did. The one-screen movie theater is a five minute walk from where I’m staying this week. I felt a little awkward sitting alone during those fifteen minutes before the lights dimmed, while everyone else chatted with their companion, but there was also something nice about not having to talk to anyone. Sometimes, I learn most about myself when there’s no one around who “knows” me. By the way, The Ghost Writer was a great film with a twist at the end that I didn’t expect.
ps- The image above was edited with the Lo-Mob iPhone app. Nikki Harden over at Fridaville recommended it. Check out her blog. Very inspirational and packed with gorgeous pics.
